We are happy to share with you that this year's PNG Open will be going ahead for all golfer's who are in PNG and able to compete, albeit on a smaller scale than usual due to the pandemic. Due to ongoing uncertainties and restrictions we were not sure if we would be able to go ahead, but with approval from the Sports Foundation and continued support from SP Brewery (thank you SP!) the nation's flagship golf tournament will be played this year with the winner deemed champion.
The tournament will be decided by strokes over four rounds of 18 holes. A maximum of 180 players will be allowed to play whilst if there will be excess, it will be decided by handicap where lower handicaps will be given preference. There will be no separate event for amateurs. Only one (1) winner will be declared. The last 2 rounds will be seeded accordingly from the last position to the leader.
